Access Israel's 9th Annual International Conference

Accessibility Arrangements

Access Israel has put a lot of efforts to make the conference accessible for all in accordance with the Israeli accessibility legislation and even beyond. We are here for you for any request, offer of improvement or special coordination that you might require .

The following is a list of accessibility arrangements offered in our conference:

  • Disabled parking is reserved at the entrance to The Valley or on the opposite side of the street(distance about thirty meters).
  • Accessibility in the hall – 
  • An accessible registration desk including an induction loop and possibly to use sign language through a special application
  • Accessible toilets for men and women
  • Accessible tables and chairs with handrails
  • There is navigational signage and clears signs for various sections of the conference
  • Accessible exhibition booths
  •  Accessible furniture for lunch
  • The conference will be accompanied by captions in Hebrew and English , hearing aid systems and sign language translation
  • The hall will have an navigation system for those with visual disabilities and for people who are blind
  • The conference program will be offered in enlarged print, simple language, linguistic simplification and Braille
  • Lecturers are instructed on how to lecture in an accessible way including preparing accessible presentations and videos with subtitles
  • The staff has been trained to help people with disabilities – do not hesitate to ask for help as needed
  • Assistance with orientation in the conference structure can be provided by request
  • Entry is possible with guide dogs and service animals
  • Accessible transportation from the train will be possible – prior coordination is required

  • Website accessibility – 
  • An accessible website is a site that allows people with disabilities and elderly to use the web with the same level of efficiency and satisfaction as all web-users, about 20 – 25 % of the population have difficulty using the Internet and may benefit from more accessible Internet content, according to a 2003 study by Microsoft .

Access Israel believes in and works for equal opportunities in the Internet space for people with various disabilities and people who use technology to help them use the computer.

Website accessibility

  • This site meets the requirements of the Regulations of Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Accessibility of Service), 2013.
  •  Accessibility adjustments were made in accordance with the recommendations of the Israeli Standard (T.I. 5568) for Internet content accessibility at AA level and the international Wcag 2.0 document.
  • The tests were tested for the highest compatibility for the Chrome browser.
  • The site provides a semantic structure for assistive technologies and support for the common usage pattern for operating with a keyboard using the arrow keys, Enter and Esc to exit menus and windows.
  • Suitable for display in common browsers and for use on mobile phones
  • For the best browsing experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the latest NVDA software.
  • Documents or videos uploaded to the website before October 2017 may not be fully accessible. If you come across such a document or video, you can contact the accessibility coordinator (the details can be found below) and we will make sure to make the information accessible to you.
  • Delivery of information in an accessible format – Access Israel provides the option of receiving information in accessible formats. The provision of information is free of charge and is intended for people with disabilities.   • Accessibility testing and consulting was performed by A2Z Accessibility and Internet Marketing Company
